Making lasagna has never been one of my favorite things to do. It’s always been too messy and time-consuming for me to make during the week….until now. Let me introduce you to Crockpot Lasagna.

Crockpot Lasagna

This crockpot lasagna is fast and easy to put together the night before or in the morning (which is what I did) before heading out the door to work. Served with garlic bread and a salad and you have yourself a nice, satisfying dinner the whole family will enjoy.

Tip: Cook the sauce mixture ahead of time to save valuable minutes in the morning. I chose to cook the sauce in the crockpot overnight and it worked out amazing.

  • 1 1/2 jars Prego traditional sauce

  3. Combine mozzarella cheese, egg, and parmesan cheese together to make cheese mixture.

  4. Pour 2 cups of meat mixture on the bottom of the crockpot, layer lasagna noodles and top with cheese mixture.

  5. Repeat layers 3 times. Make sure the top layer is the meat mixture.

  6. Cook on low for 3 hours and 30 minutes.

  7. Top with cheese (about 1 cup), cook for an additional 15 minutes.

Recipe Notes

As mentioned above, to save time, you can choose to make the meat mixture in the crockpot overnight instead of cooking it on the stove.

Easily Adapt Recipe

Based on your family’s preferences, you may want to adapt the recipe. Here are a few suggestions:

Instead of mild Italian sausage, you can add spicy Italian sausage or ground beef.

Add more or less cheese depending on your personal preference. I personally cannot have enough melted cheese, as you can see from the pictures:-)

Substitute your favorite spaghetti sauce in place of the Prego traditional sauce.

Saute fresh vegetables such as green peppers and onions with your meat.
