As springtime approaches, prepare for your upcoming season of games and practices using this gift guide. The most important factor when determining what to include on the gift guide is weather.
The weather in the Midwest is not predictable or consistent in the spring. One day we can have 3 inches of snow and the next it can be 60 degrees and sunny. For this reason, I have to be prepared for all seasons at all times.
What I have learned over the years is to invest in a few essential items that provide the most comfort and convenience. Whether I’m trying to stay warm and dry or cool and hydrated, the goal is to be comfortable so I don’t miss a single minute of the action.
The items listed below are a sampling of what I recommend to families preparing for their upcoming season of games and practices.
Contents
1. Stadium Seat
Stay comfortable in bleachers with this stadium seat from Walmart. Available in several different colors. Great for supporting your back when sitting for extended periods of time. Portable and lightweight.
2. Canvas Tote
This tote helps to keep everything in its place and organized.
3. Tailgate Wagon
Field far away from where you parked? Have a lot to carry? No problem! Save your back and your sanity by using this Utility Wagon to haul up to 150 pounds of gear. Big enough to put your cooler, chairs, and bag. Side straps help carry your umbrella.
4. Arctic Zone Cooler
Keep drinks and snacks cool throughout the day with this Arctic Zone cooler. The flip-open zipperless lid allows for easy access while the Microban lining protects against bacterial odors and stains. The Hardbody liner has a SmartShelf which keeps soft food from being crushed.
5. Rainproof/Windproof Blanket
This awesome blanket is both waterproof and windproof. Perfect for those early season spring games when there is still a winter chill in the air. Wrap this blanket around your shoulders or legs for an added layer of protection. Also good to give to the team when they’re sitting on the sideline waiting for their turn to play (and you suddenly become the hero of the day).
6. Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Protect your skin from the elements with Aquaphor. Great for lips, face, and hands. We keep this handy all year long.
7. ShedRain Reversible Umbrella
This double-layer umbrella is wind-resistant, anti-ultraviolet, and has an inverted design to keep the rain off when getting in and out of the car. Cross the c-shape over your arm to make the umbrella hands-free.
8. Under Armour Water Bottle
Never worry about having enough water again. This water bottle carries enough water to keep your star hydrated all day. Double-wall insulated to keep water icy cold for up to 12 hours. Choose from a multitude of colors. BPA free and leak resistant.
9. Ponytail Headband
Moms and daughters will both love this TrailHeads Ponytail Headband. Available in 6 colors, you’re sure to find one that matches your team uniform. Perfect for early-morning games when the temperature feels more like winter than spring. Made with fleece, this headband is warm and comfortable and provides complete ear coverage.
10. Sports Chair
Sit in comfort while you watch your little sports star shine on the field. This chair comes with two cup holders, a mesh back to help you stay cool, and a carrying strap attached to the chair. Lightweight and easy to manipulate.
11. Pop-up Tent
No more worrying about the soggy forecast when you have this handy pop-up tent. Watch the game from every angle while staying dry and comfortable inside your pod. Available in 5 colors (navy, orange, red, royal, and white), this tent also comes with its own matching backpack carrying case.
12. YETI Tumbler
Keep your coffee, tea, or hot chocolate hot when you use your YETI Tumbler. When the weather starts to warm-up, this YETI also keeps beverages nice and cold. Available in lots of fun colors and dishwasher safe.
I hope this guide helps you prepare for the upcoming spring season. What are some items you can’t be without when you’re on the sideline? I’d love to hear from you!
